Okay, there are two key rules to remember when it comes to pluralizing last names:
1. Write out the last name in its entirety
2. You never need an apostrophe
Easy, right?
Examples:
Smiths
Johnsons
Wesleys
You just have to add an s, even if the last letter is y.
Here are the exceptions:
If the name ends in s, z, ch, or sh, add es.
If it ends in x, add es unless the x is silent.
Examples:
Felix Family will be Felixes
Bordeaux --> Bordeauxs
Claus --> Clauses
Haynes --> Hayneses
That's it! I hope you find this helpful. Happy writing!
